Land Being Cleared for
New Local Business Sites
July 26- At three different sites around town, land is being cleared for three new business buildings that will soon be under construction in Farmington. First of these is at the intersection of weber road and plaza square street where the future Kay Jewelers building will be erected.
The second project is in the 200 block of West Harrison street where a vacant house is being torn down to make way for new offices to be built by two doctors who will open a clinic there.

The third, and by far most ambitious of these projects is the three-story new office building to be built at the Farmington Industrial Park (correct name??) by the Clayco General Contractors of St. Louis. Once the land is cleared and the building completed, the facility, named the Centene Claims Center and Daycare Center is slated to house 700 workers. Of that total, 400 current employees at their current location in Farmington, plus an addition 300 new workers will be housed in this structure.
As this new structure is being completed, a major new intersecton involving a “J” turn will be constructed at Perrine and Hy 67 south of Farmington to imporve traffic flow to the new Centene building.
One other project in the works will be the construction of a large new ABC School House Daycare Center at Woodland and Holly streets in the north part of the city. Work is expected to commence on this project within the next few weeks.
