Large Turnout for Dennis McIntosh Retirement Ceremony
December 25 — A large crowd filled the main lobby of Ozarks Federal Savings and Loan Association early this afternoon for the retirement ceremony for its executive director Dennis McIntosh.
A long-time Farmington attorney, McIntosh served eight years as a member of the Ozarks Federal Board of Directors before becoming the organization's chairman of the board, president, and chief executive officer during the past 17 years. The program opened with a commendation by Rep. Jason Smith of the U.S. House of Representatives. Next came remarks by David Buerck who presented McIntosh with a present from members of the Ozarks staff. Buerck is the incoming Chairman of the Board of Ozarks Federal. Michele King was the next speaker who presented McIntosh with an Award from the Board of Directors.
In his comments to the crowd, McIntosh spoke about the great tradition of Ozarks Federal which has led to a steady growth of the firm over the years. While he said he plans to slow down his activities during his upcoming retirement years, he said he will never forget the wonderful staff that he worked with during his years at Ozarks Federal.
A graduate of the Missouri University’s law school, McIntosh established a successful law practice in the area where he focused on estate planning and corporate counseling for many businesses. He was also active in the Missouri Bar Association where he served two terms as chairman of the Legal Education Committee which oversees a program for more than 200 attorneys. He was also director of the Farmington Industrial Development Authority where he continues to serve as its secretary. He is a past two-term president of the Mineral Area College Foundation where he chairs its Investment Committee. He is a director of the Missouri Bankers Association’s Bank Counsel Advisory Board.
McIntosh is one of 12 executives serving on the Community Depository Institution Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.
The staff of the Post(note)-Dispatch wish Mr. McIntosh a pleasant retirement and a well-deserved rest. You will be missed in downtown Farmington!
