New Art Gallery in Town to Showcase Local Visual Artists
March 11 -- The works of a promising young artist, Noelle Wagner, is being featured at a new art Gallery in town opened by the staff of 573 Magazine. Located at the magazine's headquarters at 212 West Columbia Street, the art gallery offers ideal space for display of paintings, photos, and other works of art -- particularly that which is produced by "talented local artists who are trying to launch their careers." This location has proven to be an ideal one for the Gallery's first show, which emphasizes Wagner's art works that consist mainly of photos, newspapers and magazine collages that impart a message in a bright and colorful way. At its opening reception today, a large crowd turned out for the show, which reflected powerful thoughts of emotion.
Wagner, who lives in Park Hills, noted in an interview in 573 Magazine that art fills her world, which includes "anything that makes ordinary places or things livelier and more colorful." She noted that a big part of her artwork involves "snipping and gluing." The results, based on her works on display at the show, are powerful and stimulating. Each piece demands that the viewer spend a little time to drink it all in.
Our staff also wishes to compliment the staff at 573 Magazine for deciding it open a art gallary in town that will surely help stimulate other new artists to plan their own shows as part of the magazine's "Incubate Your Passion Series" which 573 hopes will attract other local painters, photographers, and sculptors.
