Several Hundred Participate in City’s 5K Turney Day Run

Following a route north on A street, east on College Ave., south on North Washington Street, east on West Columbia Street before runners headed north one block on A street to the finish line in front of the Public Library. This year’s winner was Alison Hill of DeSoto with an official running time of 18 minutes and 50 seconds. He was followed in second place by Gage Blois of Farmington. Third place, with a 19:58 performance, was Sammy Wileman.
The event was sponsored by the Centene Center and CKrak ‘n Jacks. The City’s Parks and Recreation Department coordinated the run. A number of participants —including whole families and pets—also walked all or part of the route. Medals were awarded to key runners. Those participating in the event were also served hot coffee and donuts.
